Hello Birthday Adventures!

I had such an amazing birthday!  And my husband made sure the day was filled with lots of fun surprises.

This morning started like any normal day for us.  We got up early and went to the gym.  Then we came home and hung out for awhile.  We had lunch at home and then we started off on our Birthday adventure.

My husband wouldn’t tell me where we were going or give me any clues.  He put an address into his phone’s GPS, but told me I was not allowed to look at the phone to find out where we were headed.  It was one big mystery, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride, listening to music, singing, and laughing with my husband.  And before I knew it we were at our mystery destination… ANGRY ORCHARD!!!  I was so excited.

A few months ago we had randomly ended up at Angry Orchard and it was a lot of fun, but we didn’t really get to explore because it was super busy that day.  So, I was so excited my husband took me back for my birthday.  We took the self-guided tour and then went downstairs to the bar.  We each got three different ciders to taste, so in total we had six different ones to share.  Three were dry and three were sweet.  Of the six ciders we shared three were new to us: Understood In Motion 02, Ginger and Autumn Farm.  They were all dry ciders and we both enjoyed Autumn Farm the most which was more of a dry/sweet cider.

After we finished our tasting we headed outside to enjoy sitting in the orchard.  Other people were there just hanging out.  There was an awesome fire pit with a nice warm fire on this cool Autumn day, but too many people were sitting around it, so we sat at a table nearby.  Angry Orchard is such an awesome place.  So many people come to just chill.  There was life-size Jenga set-up on one table and a life-size Connect Four at another.  People were throwing around frisbees and just having a great time.  It was so much fun!

After Angry Orchard it was off to our next destination… Mad Batters Pastries!!!  This was my first time seeing the bakery which was so awesome.  We met up with Kristin who is the owner of Mad Batters Pastries.  She is so awesome.  We talked for awhile while my cake finished baking, then my husband and I went out to see the horses (Mad Batters’ bakery is located on a farm).  The horses were so beautiful!  I also got to play with one of the dogs that belongs to Kristin’s mother.

We hung out for awhile, laughing and talking and having a good time.  When my husband and I went back in the bakery my cake was done, and boy was I surprised and soooo excited!  My husband asked Kristin to bake me a Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake which is my FAVORITE!!!  I first tried Mad Batters Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake months ago and have been dreaming of it ever since.  It is soooo good!  Kristin also gave me some Mocha Cupcakes and a Brownie.

After leaving Mad Batters it was off to dinner.  On the way to our dinner destination my husband and I both had a Mocha Cupcake and mmmmmm!!!  It sooo good!  Everything Mad Batters makes is AMAZING!

For dinner my husband and I went to Chili’s and had a great dinner.  The funny thing was while we were there two other people were celebrating their birthdays!  Now we are home with our girls, relaxing and getting ready to curl up on the couch and watch some TV while we eat and enjoy my AMAZING Birthday Cake.

I had such a wonderful Birthday filled with surprises, fun, laughs, adventures, and good friends.  Here’s to another wonderful trip around the sun!  Can’t wait to see what the next year holds for me!
