Thieves & Wellness Tea

When the fall and winter hit, and everyone seems to be coming down with sore throats and colds, my husband and I ALWAYS turn to Wellness Tea.  Not only could it help boost your immune system, but it also tastes so good.  If you’re feeling under the weather, Wellness Tea is the perfect thing to drink.  It’s very soothing on the throat.

My husband woke up with a sore throat two days ago.  Good thing I ordered a bottle of Thieves Vitality in my last ER order because we were out!  In the fall and winter we survive on Thieves.  And guess what’s in Wellness Tea.  Yep, Thieves!

Now before I go any further I need to tell you something very important.  There are two schools of thought when it comes to using essential oils internally.  One group is totally against it, while the other says that as long as you know that what you’re using is pure, you know how it was grown, and where it came from, then it’s ok to use essential oils internally.

“I regularly get questions from people asking me about ingesting essential oils and I now understand why there’s so much confusion. One myth breeds more myths. Innocent uncertainty breeds more uncertainty. And the vicious cycle continues.

The fact remains that there are no scientific, evidence-based, anatomical, physiological or logical reasons to say that essentials oils are unsafe for human consumption. Paradoxically, aromatherapists are still at odds with each other on this point, which confuses the casual essential oil user all the more. With that said, rest assured that large professional organizations like National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) support safe, internal use.

In the words of NAHA, “Essential oils may be applied on the skin (dermal application), inhaled, diffused or taken internally. Each of these methods have safety issues which need to be considered.” And this makes complete sense to me. Like anything we can easily overdo it, and we must remember a little goes a long way with regard to essential oils – especially internal use!”

I would never use an essential oil I bought in the store internally.  There’s too many ifs with that.  I personally use Young Living, and I absolutely love them.  They also have the Seed to Seal Guarantee which lets me know that what I’m using is pure.  I highly suggest checking out the Seed to Seal website.  It’s truly amazing how much testing goes into each oil, and much care goes into growing the plant material.  It’s also fun to read about the individual farms where all the plant material is grown.

Thieves is an AMAZING oil and in the fall and winter we are never without it in my home.

“With Thieves® Vitality™ you’ll have a quick and easy way to balance your busy life and your wellness. With Young Living’s Thieves Vitality essential oil you can support overall wellness and a healthy immune system* with just a few drops.

Thieves Vitality combines Lemon, Clove, Eucalyptus Radiata, Cinnamon Bark, and
Rosemary essential oils to create one of our most popular products. These ingredients synergistically combine to offer one of the key benefits of Thieves Vitality oil: overall wellness and support of a healthy immune system. Additionally, Eucalyptus Radiata Vitality may also help support a healthy respiratory system when taken internally*.”

      • awesome thank you ! I just recently got the young living starter kit. I’m not against ingestion I’m just not familiar with it and I don’t know a lot. I want to learn more but I’m skeptical to be honest. I think why I’m skeptical is that as a nurse I think “no, don’t put that in your body.” the more I read on the subjects and get to understand more about the oils, im more willing to try things. does that make sense ?
I’m also going thru a course to become a holistic nurse. they teach u that you are not allowed to advertise ingestion even tho half the nurses I’m training with ingest.

      • I totally get that 🙂 I’ve been using oils for three years now and they have completely changed my life. The best advice I could give is research research research 🙂 I have learned so much on my own and through talking with others. One of the biggest helps I had was my local library has a subscription to UniversalClass.com and I took their 101 Essential Oils class and Intermediate to Advanced Essential Oils class when I first got into oils and it was super helpful. Maybe your library offers something similar? It was such a great springboard for me to learn oil safety, how oils are produced, etc… and from there I just kept on learning 🙂
