“Find What Feels Good”

This morning my husband and I returned to the gym.  Like my husband told me, each day gets a little easier, and today it was time to start trying to get back into the swing of things.swing-of-thingsI decided not to do cardio today, instead I thought the best thing for me, mentally and physically, was to do yoga.  Yoga is so freeing, so relaxing, so grounding, so calming.  It was exactly what I needed to recenter myself.

My gym has a room called the “Cardio Cinema”.  There’s a few cardio machines in there with a big movie screen.  It’s very rare that my gym actually shows a movie.  Usually they have a nature running video playing on endless loop.  What I love about this room is it’s extremely quiet, and the lights are off so it’s dark.  To me the darkness is calming and I love exercising in this room because hardly anyone is ever in there.  For awhile now I’ve thought about taking my tablet and yoga mat and doing yoga in there since there is a lot of floor space.  So, that’s exactly what I did today.

I love doing yoga.  My favorite videos are by Yoga With Adriene.  I found her videos and website a few years ago and I love her approach to yoga.  She believes in organic movement, finding yourself on the mat, grounding yourself and her motto is “Find What Feels Good”.  How M.U.D. is that?

Adriene offers numerous free yoga videos on her website and YouTube channel as well as a paid yoga video service called Find What Feels Good.  In the past I’ve subscribed to her paid service and it’s wonderful!  You can find a yoga video for whatever mood you’re in.  From beginner to advanced, you can definitely find a video that works for you.

Today I chose to do a free 15 minutes video called Movement Medicine – Calm.  It was perfect and exactly what I needed today to get my body moving and my mind re-centered.  It was a perfect way to just let go.
