I love being near water, whether it’s the ocean, a lake or a pool.  There is something about water that makes me feel calm.  Maybe it’s because I’m a water sign.  I just feel at peace when I’m surrounded by water.

Us in Owl’s Head, ME, May 2016

As you know, my husband and I love to explore.  One of our favorite places to go on vacation is Maine.  You have everything there!  Mountains, beaches, rocky cliffs, dense forests.  Not to mention it’s an absolutely beautiful state.  We go to Maine every few years and last year we went to Thomaston, ME and explored around that area.  One of our favorite places near Thomaston was Owl’s Head.  In Owl’s Head there were beaches as well as a park with a lighthouse you could walk to.  Great memories.

A few months ago I was walking around a store not too far from my house and I saw these awesome bracelets made by a company called Dune Jewelry.  Yesterday I talked about how I love my clothes to reflect my personality and my values.  Same thing goes with my jewelry.  If I’m going to wear jewelry I want there to be some type of meaning behind it.  Every piece of jewelry you find me wearing has meaning to it.  I don’t like wearing jewelry just for the sake of wearing jewelry.

Dune Jewelry makes these awesome bangle bracelets, necklaces, and rings that are actually made with beach sand!  I love that it’s so eco-friendly!  Very M.U.D.!  Unfortunately, all the bracelets in the store were made from sand that had no significance to me.  So, I went home and went on their website.  And that’s when I found that not only do they have a vast sandbank, but you could also send them sand from your travels and they will turn it into a charm for you!  Not only that, but the company encompasses more than just beach sand.

Dune Jewelry is The Original Beach Sand Jewelry Company.®

We create fine Experiential Jewelry™ with the highest quality materials from around the world to capture your most meaningful experiences, favorite adventures and precious memories. We individually handcraft each piece with your sand, earth, or element from your favorite beach, trail, ballpark, mountaintop, golf course and more.”

You can choose from various sand, shells and other elements from around the world to have your special charm made out of.

While searching on their website I found that they could make me a charm out of sand from Owl’s Head, Maine, the place where my husband and I went last year on our Anniversary and that held such great memories for us.  I decided to order myself a bracelet so I would always have a piece of Maine with me and I could look at it and remember how much fun we had not only in Owl’s Head, but how much fun we always have in Maine in general.

I was so excited when my bracelet came in the mail.  It’s absolutely beautiful and well made and comes in a beautiful presentation box.  The bracelet comes with a one-size-fits-all bangle, but it said on the website that if you find you need a smaller bangle to let them know.  I have a small wrist, so I wrote to them and asked if they could send me a smaller bangle, and they did.  They got back to me right away and sent me a complimentary smaller bangle, which I got a few days later and fits perfectly.

Dune Jewelry offers many different options for charms.  I chose a crab because we see so many of them in Maine, especially last year we saw beaches full.  The crabs’ body is made from the Owl’s Head beach sand.

I love my bracelet.  I love that it’s something that is not only eco-friendly, but also carries memories with it.  I love that I can carry around a piece of one of my favorite states with me.

Capture your unforgettable travels, adventures and moments with your own bracelet, necklace, or ring from Dune Jewelry.  You won’t be disappointed.
